  spot light- how to get rid of the rings it creates

  hey there,

  I’ve been playing about with a spot light for the last hour or so. But I can’t achieve a natural gradient of where the light is shone, what I’m left with, is a group of rings that fade in colour the closer to the centre they get.

  I’d be very grateful if anyone has a solution to how I can achieve a more natural light effect.

  Add a small amount of noise (2% should work) to reduce the banding.

  Additionally, Greyscale Gorilla just did an excellent tutorial — both explaining the cause of “banding” and offering some good fixes/workarounds….
