  Breakaway cables

  Im in the process of making some more breakaway cables for my kit and wondering what other people used for connectors in their cables?

  Im using 7 pin XLR connectors with…
  Pin 1 earth
  Pin 2 L+
  Pin 3 L-
  Pin 4 R+
  Pin 5 R-
  Pin 6 L return
  Pin 7 R return

  A friend of mine uses 9 pin “D” type computer connectors but he seems to be repairing them often (they dont seem not robust enough in my opinion)
  Does any one have any other suggestions?
