I have a couple of senn 112 G-2’s mounted in a travel rack with my digi 003R. Should I use the 1/4 inch outs to tracks 5 -6 or go with XLR into 1-2? I don’t know the difference of the line in vs. mic in. I assume coming out of a preamp, I could go 1/4 to line but why do they have the xlr on the receiver unit?

    Thanks for the newby question.

Hello Jeff and welcome to the Cow Audio Forum,

Based on what’s in your manual — Providing it’s correct,
Audio output level (balanced) XLR: +18 dBu max
Audio output level (unbalanced) Jack: +12 dBu max

It looks like the 1/4″ jack is unbalanced. I’d go with the balanced XLR output to your 003 line level input.
So you need a female XLR to Male 1/4″ TRS cable.

    Regards,
