  EV RE18 – repair or toss?

  As an emergency backup, I have been carrying an Electrovoice RE18 around in my kit for about ever. I can’t remember the last time I actually used it.

  The other day I unzipped the mic pouch and found three pieces; the long skinny rejection port’s cover and screen had come off, and the long piece just inside the opening is now lying across the chamber at an angle. I might be able to retrieve it, but I don’t know how to secure it so it wouldn’t come loose inside again.

  Is this mic worth repairing? If so, who does it? If not, what’s a good inexpensive mic to replace it as my ultimate backup?
