  EQing a hard room to sound softer

  I am doing some post audio work for someone and there is some footage that was shot with a boom mic in a hard room. Concret walls, tile floors and such. Hollow sounding.
  I could use some advice in QEing. Frequency ranges to key on and such. Or any other advice to help soften it would be appreciated.

  Reverb is virtually impossible to alleviate.

  Any EQ that you apply will reduce the primary (wanted) audio frequencies, since the reverb is identical in frequency to the primary source.

  The room needs to be “treated” (deadened) and the mic carefully positioned before the recording is made.
