hey, I know creative cow doesn’t have a section for the JVC HD100’s, so I’m posting this here since the other half of my problem is the mic. I have an Azden 2x mic that I am trying to get to work on my camera, but can’t seem to get anything out of it. The camera settings are on Input 2, amd the audio input is Mic + 48, anyone know what I have to do to get sound? The original mic that it came with works under that exact setting.

Did you take the battery out?

I dont know this camera or mic, but this may help.
    1) Is input 2 a line level or mic level input. The mic will be outputting a miniscule voltage compared to a line level signal. Usually @40DB lower.
You need to investegate the differences between the inputs.

    2) Does the mic need phantom power. If youve got it on and the mic isnt phantomed then it may cause damage to the capsule. Is the mic generating its own power? Have you tried it into a different device to prove it works ok.
