Would there be any advantage in using a small-diameter quad cable (Mogami 2799, for example) for an installation in which runs are short and flexibility/durability is relatively unimportant as nothing (in theory, at least) will be moved? I usually just use Belden BL-8451 (about $.11/ft. vs. $.35/ft. for the Mogami). The additional cost wouldn’t be an issue if there are benefits to be realized. I love the Canare Star-Quad for mic cables or long runs and the Mogami small-diameter quad stuff looks great. I just don’t know if it’s worth it for this particular project.

I’m replacing an old Yamaha MC2404 II board with a Tascam DM-3200 in our studio control room. Cables will mostly be terminated with XLRs at the gear and ADC punchdowns at the patchbay, with a few 1/4″ TRS and RCA for older/cheaper gear.
