Let’s say I want to broadcast on TV and the net, a real person doing whatever. I want the person to be able to walk about freely on the set and also not have a headset of any kind for the audio.

For the audio, I’ve seen on TV programs the person speaking has a little -transmitter pack??- on the backside of him clipped on his belt or something. What is that thing called? Where can I buy it?

Am I correct in thinking that that thing enables a person to walk about freely on a set, speaking without a microphone?

Does anyone know what I am talking about? Any more info?

It’s called a wireless mic. The transmitter is hidden somewhere on the talent’s body and there’s a receiver at the recorder or camcorder. The mic can be hidden or visible depending on you want.

If you search this forum and the Final Cut Pro forum you’ll find lots of discussion about different wireless mic products. Look in your area for a pro audio and/or video dealer who can help you out.
