Hi, I’m a video editor working in a traditional on-line editing suite, mastering to Digital Betacam. I need to take my spots to a DAW session using Pro-tools software. I’m converting my audio files in an Avid Media Composer. 16bit 48k

My question is, what’s the best video format for the Pro-tools?
    small sized Quicktime ? MPEG-4 ? AVI ?

thanks for any help. Phil B

Actually, I was wondering what the best Video file format would be for the audio mixer to use to visually sync up his mix to my picture. I’m assuming QT, but I’m open to suggestion.

I’m giving him AIFF files for the audio.

In that case, ask him/her. There are many solutions.

    maybe Quicktime, maybe AVI.
