PNG files Crashing Vegas Pro 17
Weird thing. .MOV files with transparent backgrounds are crashing my Vegas Pro 17 but work perfectly in Vegas Pro 16. What am I missing here?? a certain setting??

Preferences > Deprecated Features > Check QT

I have QT selected in the Deprecated Features. I have many .mov transparent background files that work fine. It’s just these certain ones I’m having trouble with. Could there be something else??

Has to be ????.
Start analysing the MOVs that reveal the Alpha Channel and then those that don’t. I’d use MediaInfo.

The strange thing is that these particular ones I’m having trouble with all work fine in Vegas Pro 16!! I can’t understand why they wouldn’t work in 17. I have the latest build version too.

Please note that a .MOV is just a container. Like a box, it can have different things inside. Different Vegas Pro versions may handle the same file differently. Hence Graham‘s query.

Thanks Francois. We need more information from the OP to assist, otherwise we are chasing our tails. But it’s all good and a learning experience for all of us. Unfortunately, we need evidence-based, the use of MediaInfo, results to assist further.
