  • Is there a Cartoon/Comic add-on filter?

Posted by John Lee on May 20, 2020 at 5:44 pm

    Hi,

I use Vegas Pro 14. I’ve seen videos where the footage is converted to a cartoon or comic-like appearance. Is there an add-on or filter included with Vegas that accomplishes this?

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

I dont think so,new blue I believe has one or two affects that do something that, kind of like faux rotoscoping.

About 9-10 years ago, New Blue offered a “Cartoonr” plugin for free. They later discontinued it in favor of an updated plugin “Cartoonr Plus” but now the cost is about $99.00. You should be able to find it on their website.

Vegas guru John Rofrano has 2 tutorials on his site that might help.
One gives your video a watercolor painting look and the other gives it a pencil sketch look.
    Check them out.

    Hi John

On top of using Vegas Pro, I also have Hitfilm that comes with a set of Ignite plugins. Those plugins are automatically incorporated in Vegas when you install Hitfilm. Now, I can’t remember if they came with the free version of Hitfilm or if they were part of the paid version that I got later on. It’s been to long…

Here’s a sample of the Cartoon plugin used in Vegas Pro.

Just dropped one of the presets on that one.

    Cheers !
