How to set default for items in Project Media to auto preview items when I click on them
Posted by Janet Turner on November 23, 2019 at 5:31 pmI used to be able, in earlier versions of Vegas, to click on an item in my Project Media window and have it auto preview on the Video Preview window. I cannot seem to find where I can set this as a default in Vegas 17. Any help would be appreciated.

Hi Janet! Working here. You may have the PREVIEW showing in the Trimmer Preview rather than the MAIN Preview window.

Thank you for responding. I do not have the Trimmer Preview window open. I do not recall making any changes to the layout. I looked through Preferences, View and File but I finally found the right button at the top of the Project Media tab to set the auto preview!!!! After finally typing in the correct phrase into the help menu, I was told where the “magic button” is to turn on/off preview. This has been driving me crazy for days but I am now up and running. Now to learn how to use the Storyboard and add the Title tab to my layout. I left off with Vegas 14 so I am probably a bit behind the rest of you. So far, I like Vegas 17 but I am just starting to scratch the surface.
Again, thank you for taking the time to respond.

Hi Janet! Yes I use this all the time too. I had assumed, incorrectly, that you had had this activated and you couldn’t understand just why this wasn’t getting your Media Previewed. That’s why I suggested the Trimmer being the culprit in stealing your Previewing.

Ah-huh! And when you do maybe you could teach me? When it comes to this I’m a lost cause or “Forlorn Hope” . . .

Wow, you’ll see some majoraly massive improvements. There’s much to be excited about – well, I think so.
