AE 6.5 & Tiger Mac OS 10.4.1
Posted by Rory Hinds on June 15, 2005 at 12:43 pmHi there
Just wondering if anyone is running AE 6.5 on Tiger?
Are there any issues or is it plain sailing?
Thanks

Thanks for your response. What sort of trouble are you having with your Decklink? I have the Decklink HD.
Thanks

June 15, 2005 at 2:44 pmAfter installing tiger, QT 7.0.1., and the Decklink drivers 4.8, It now acts oddly and works intermittently. My AE output to it will work fine, then at another time won’t work at all. Then I’ll get ‘general error’ when opening FCP. Now it won’t play out legacy QT through the monitors (like when you play a BM codec movie in the QT player).
It can be solved by (not restarting) shutting down the host comp (i guess it needs to kill the power to the Decklink for a sec). But still odd.

June 15, 2005 at 3:04 pmHi Chris,
You might want to report this on the Cow’s Blackmagic Design forum. Their engineers and tech support team frequent the site very regularly and it sounds like you have a pretty well-documented and clearly articulated bug here (the best kind for helping engineers solve it — rather than the kind of words engineers hate as when people post “It doesn’t work” or something like “This thing sucks”).
The Blackmagic team would more than likely welcome your feedback, Chris.
Best regards,

June 16, 2005 at 1:41 amRory: Thx for the link. I actually installed my elements in the correct order. I did see that link when searchng for a problem. I then re installed everything from scratch in the order it asked for and I still get the problems.
Ron: I gotcha. I send them a note.
