  • Pan/Crop “Match Output Aspect” not working

Posted by Ethan Nunn on July 18, 2019 at 11:24 pm

I’m working with 1440×900 gameplay footage and I’m working in a 16:9 project. I usually duplicate the gameplay footage, crop the bottom track to 16:9, and apply a gaussain blur to get a blurred pillarbox effect. However, I can’t get it to fill the screen, even if I use the match output aspect option. Not sure what’s causing it.

    Any help? thanks!

Yes, this i am aware happens sometimes, so what you have to do is restart Vegas and then delete
the offending footage from the timeline and then re-apply from scratch, then”match output aspect”
first thing, then do your cropping and again “match output aspect” etc….
Hope that helps, its somewhat similar to what i have to do when this issue pops up.

Also make sure you don’t have any hidden or unwanted keyframes in that “pan/crop” window, this is
    also sometimes the case.
