    Hi guys,

Just need to know if it’s at all possible to load M2ts file (with HEVC codec) into Vegas 16. Supposedly it should work with HEVC, but it isn’t. Tried to demux it to HEVC video, still no chance. What am I missing?

    Many thanks!

    Hi

What if you just rename your m2ts to .mp4 ?

Or upload a short m2ts recording here!

    Best,
    Ole

    Hi !

Your are right that tsmuxer makes no difference – nor can the file load into Davinci resolve Studio 16 – even in Handbrake! To get the file into Vegas Pro 16, you need to convert the file to another quality!

Thanks. What would you suggest? The thing is, this file contains HDR, so when I, for example, try to convert it in Handbreak, the HDR is gone…

Have tried various convertors but all failed BUT VLC seems to convert it.
Can see the changing colours bars and grey scale test. Not sure exactly what the quality is after converting.

    New Mediainfo

Worth a try to see how it works out?

Premiere Pro CC 2017 also opens your Original . :). But that might not help.
Just thought I would mention it BUT Vegas it so much better for everything else 🙂

Thanks guys for all your input! I found and easy solution on Vegas forum, if anyone interested – XMedia Recode is a great tool to convert m2ts to mp4 without losing any quality, and that’s the file Vegas Pro 14 accepts with no hustle.
