I’ve used Sony Vegas 13,14, and 15 and this problem occurs on all versions. The preview screen stays on a single frame but the audio still works as it should. The screens starts to work when you start to change the size of the screen. The preview will go to the exact frame that the video is on when it is being resized. I basically am not able to use the preview as it is either stuck on one frame, or when I am changing the size of the preview, it slowly changes the frames that are corresponding to the video. If you know a solution or want to ask questions then that would be great. Cheers!

    Hi Jreyden

If you go to Option/Preferences/Video tab, what is the number for the Dynamic Ram Preview and what is the maximum available.

Is GPU Acceleration on or off ? What is your GPU ?

What type of computer are you running Vegas with ?

    Cheers !

    Jreyden,

In addition to the questions from Francois, please post the specs of your source media. If you do not already a copy of Mediainfo, go here: https://mediaarea.net/en/MediaInfo and download the free app. Start Mediainfo and first select the ‘View’ tab, from the drop down select ‘Text’ mode. Then select the ‘File’ tab and load your source media file. Either copy and paste here the results or post here a screenshot of the results.

How are you changing the Preview Display size? Are you stretching or shrinking the size by adjusting the Preview Window?

I’m confused that you state through 3 version of Vegas Pro you have had this problem, how you could have produced any video without being able to preview the timeline? Perhaps you have only had this problem with certain projects or using certain source media. Can you explain further?

    Best Regards……George

The maximum available is 15236 MB. GPU acceleration is on and my GPU is a NIVIDIA GeForce GTX 960M. My computer’s CPU is an i7-6700HQ 2.60GHz. My ram is 16.0 GB and it is running Windows 10 64-bit. Thanks for the help!

Hi George, I used to be able to view the video preview before but once I got to Vegas 15, all other versions that I previously had did not have the preview working. The Preview starts to change the frame that the timeline is on when I change the size of it, that means shrinking and stretching. I would also like to mention that this problem occurs on all projects. I have tried to change the files from MP4 to WMV but the same result occurred. Thanks for your help!
