SVP delayed preview when clicking anywhere on the video track
This is quite difficult to explain. I’m using Sony Vegas Pro 15. There is this problem, whenever I click on the video track to get a preview the image is delayed with a few miliseconds. Now what bothers me is that if I drag that marker, Idk what you call it, around, I don’t get a smooth preview, instead I get choppy images. The smooth preview I need is like, if I drag it rlly quickly it looks like I’m speeding it up. But now if I drag it quickly I get images at 1 sec interval…If I use my old pc I get a smooth preview just fine, but the one I have now is a new and better one (16gb ram, 4gb vram the old one was half of this) so I’m guessing it’s because of the settings? I have this same problem with Adobe Premiere Pro so yh…Please help me.

Without seeing exactly what you are seeing it is hard to determine if what you are seeing is abnormal to me. For you it is easier because you are comparing two computers that you have at hand.
But, even though your new computer may be more powerful than your old, it could be the difference in the GPU between the two. If you provide some specs between the two computers, someone may have a suggestion.
BTW, it not “Sony Vegas Pro 15”, as the last version Sony produced was 13. It is now Magix Vegas pro 15, with the latest version being 16.
Also, if you are not on the latest build (click on ‘Help’, click on ‘About’) which is build 416, you may want to update to this latest build to see if that makes an improvement. Magix is making slow improvement on their Vegas Pro to utilize more and more GPU’s so the preview and renders are smoother and better. If this doesn’t make a difference, you could also download the free trial version of Vegas Pro 16 see test with your source media and see if that makes an improvement.
