Is it something I’m doing or is Vegas Pro 16 full of bugs? I updated and timeline playback is MUCH better. However, I’ve having some quirky issues. Right now I cannot get the Gradient media Generator to work. It won’t sample the color from the preview window. It only take luminosity measurement ☹ with no color. It’s that or I’m working in a color space it’s not compatible with?

I think I remember some others complaining about that Matthew over on the Vegas Creative Software forum. If you haven’t already, may want to check there to see if there have been any fixes yet.

    Best Regards……George

Thanks, I’ll have to post my gripes in there. Honestly, there’s so many bugs and issues with VP16, I may have to litterally toss it out the window. Right now isn’t even previewing text tracks. The eye dropper tool no longer works with the plug-ins. The resolution is HORRIBLE. They advertised it’s better, optimised for 4k display (which I have), it’s far worse… Timeline event video icons are massively pixilated. I tried contacting customer support. It only took me 30 minutes to find an email for them. Nobody replied. The vendors who gave plug-ins with previous VP packages no longer honor licenses for VP 16. It’s a mess. I thought it would be a good move, especially since I hear they sorted out h.265 issues, but I’ve not even made it far enough to test that. Sigh 🙁

    Hi Mathew,

    1) If you do “post your gripes” over on the Vegas creative forum, please keep in mind that it is a peer support forum just like this one, so asking questions politely is better than finger pointing (you can talk to Magix customer service for that.)

    2) I have tested Vegas 16 with 32″ and 40″ UHD monitors and the UI is totally crisp and readable. There must be something different (wrong?) with your setup.

    3) Bugs: Yup, there are a few more than there should be. This seems to be the modus operandi for Magix – release, patch, patch, patch = OK. I plan to wait for at least one more patch (maybe 2) before moving over.

Thanks for your kind words. It seems I had to go into windows and enable compatibility mode for the application. Took a while but was finally able to get through to Magix.
