Arrange events by time stamp
Hi! Is there a way yet to organize all events on the timeline based on their time stamps – in particular the “modified” time & date? And I don’t mean just putting them in order, but also spacing them out so they are relative to when they would have been in real time? Basically I’m trying to sync 100 separate video clips of open dancing at a reception to one audio track from the DJ. Seems like it would be an easy utility to create. (I understand that the modified time/date info is in seconds vs. frames – just want to get it close enough that I can eyeball it the rest of the way.) Trying to avoid spending the $$$ on PluralEyes. Thanks!

It should be easy to put each video event on the timeline in the order they were shot but not so easy to sync each of these events to the audio track from the DJ. It can be done by hand by someone skilled enough to do it. PluralEyes would help (if the live track audio is clear enough for PluralEyes to match up the waveforms) but with 100 events to sync up, it might not be the complete answer either. Often, you don’t need a particular shot to sync exactly anyway, as long as “looks” like it syncs.
I don’t know of any “magic” way to do this if you stopped and started your camera while shooting the dance into a 100 different shots. If you had made it one long camera take where you didn’t stop the camera between shots it would have been a cinch.

A while back I had to sync a mixture of stills and at least 2 sets of video cam clips, Pluraleyes failed because some clips were too short, not knocking Pluraleyes, its a great product.
I resolved the issue by making up a s/sheet and using 2 different methods within it.
Of course that still entailed a fair bit of work, example .. not all cameras had the exact same clock setting, so this discrepancy needs to be taken into account. Another obvious point is that if your placing stills on the timeline, say 5 stills 5 seconds long, only the first one can be placed correctly if they were shot in quick succession.The s/sheet solution is still laborious, a script would be the best solution, unless Pluraleyes works, then maybe pull the trigger.
