Chroma Keyer makes my video blue.
Hello!
I have a problem. If I set the green screen effect on my video, it takes the green not just from the background, but from everywhere, making my body blue. Does anybody have a solution for this? I tried to play with Color Corrector or Color Balance, but can’t really get back the colors.
Image shows the before and after Chroma Keyer effect.
But if I do the “Color key” effect in Premiere Pro, it does the job perfectly…
Can I do something like this in Vegas?

You can simply apply another filter to color correct the result to get rid of the blue overcast, but i’m afraid the built in
Vegas keyer is not up to professional standards, what i use is Hitfilm Ignite Chroma Key filter, which is the best in

Just out of curiosity, what kind of light did you use when shooting that sequence.
The wavelength of the type of light you use will impact on your final result.
Also, did you white balance before shooting ?

Thank you for the reply! I checked the Hitfilm Ignite, but I can’t really afford that. I downloaded the Boris Continuum v9, and it’s way better than the original Sony Chrome Key.

Green screen is very tricky even in the best of conditions.
Most important question, did you do a white balance on the camera before recording ?
I need to know this before we get to the next step.

I am pretty sure that your problem with the blue in your image is caused by not doing a white balance.
Even if you are not doing green screen, it is very important to start with the proper colors. If you don’t balance your white, your colors will be off.
You want your subject to look their best.
Make sure that you do not mix different types of light. There is a Temperature/Source chart on this Wikipedia page that you may find useful:

Seems like you used the given green preset instead of picking the real background color with the keyer’s eye dropper.

That said, you should keep in mind Vegas’ chroma keyer is an extremely(!) basic chroma keyer and there’s kind of bug in it from its first day on. It is just impossible to affect certain single rgb colors without affecting the colors between.
For example you could use an EBU color bar and try to chroma key the blue bar only. But the magenta bar will always be affected, too, even if your mask would show white only for the blue bar.
