  vegas 14 / new MP4 codecs installed?

  I am using Evaer to record my Skype shows. It does indeed record in MP4. Only this version MP4 is not compatible with Vegas 13. So I have to jump through hoops to convert 3 times to get something that Vegas 13 will recognize. Even then by the end of an hour the audio no longer syncs with the video. In short its a shit show.

  Is there a known work around for this problem?

  Does vegas 14 have the codecs for this version of MP4?

  When I went to https://www.evaer.com/…I saw under features:
  Option to record Skype video calls into MP4 or AVI files.

  If it were me, I would use the AVI option and see if I could choose cineform as the codec. Either way you may get a much better video file to edit with in Vegas Pro.

  I just downloaded the trial version of Evaer and I was able to install without the Xvid codec needed for mp4 files and then went to Settings and changed the option to AVI. From there I could choose Cineform or any of the other codecs I see in Vegas under AVI.

  Best you record it in AVI and save yourself the pain, cause the problem not gonna end
  if you continue to fight the MP4 version they use.

  Thx Steve, any suggestions as to what codec to use, please see screen shot below. Crap I just tried trying to get .avi into vegas pro 13 and it was a no go. Are 3 rd party codec packages worth it?

  I went ahead and installed the free Go Pro Studio as that installs the Cineform codec that you will then see in this menu and also in Vegas Pro under Render As with Video for Windows.

  When you customize the template you should choose medium over FilmScan to keep file sizes reasonable.
