Vegas 13 build 428 vs 545? Nervous
Hi People, I’ve been away a loooong time! ?
So long that I only tonight decided to run Vegas 13 for the 1st time. Been using V12, it seems very stable. But I did not want to get too far behind.
Of course, 20 minutes into my first project, it crashed. I dutifully sent the crash report, and clicked on the link that popped up afterwards. It said that I really needed build 435. Then it redirected me to MAGIX, which told me that I needed to send and email with serial number, bla bla.
I looked on the MAGIX site and found and downloaded build 545. It runs and recognizes that I can upgrade. But I cancelled and came here for some advice. If there is a build between 428 and 545 that is best, I’d love to run that one…
The main reason I wan to run 13 is for some reason my V12 render times have tripled lately. I’m lucky to render 20 frames every second, so 3 hour 60 fps projects are taking 24 hours … Yes, my PC is old and slow but no $ to upgrade now. I’m well versed in all the optimization tricks, I’m guessing that some Windows update screwed me over.

I have downloads of VP13 — Versions 373 — 428 — 444 and 453 was the final version that I have.

It does .. No can do ..But if you have a legit serial number for VP13 then Magix should provide you with the download. But will they? So far they have not provided us with access to the downloads we already own!
If you have a Sony account this link https://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/ should let you into your old Sony account and show you all the Sony Creative Software you own with serial numbers — but the download links seem to all take you to Magix.
Anyone know where all those downloads of old Vegas Versions went? I found some of them here — https://download.sonymediasoftware.com/current/ .. But VP13 is not in this list.

I have 545. Is it more stable than 428? 428 crashes every time I exit.

Found the Vegas 13 download from Magix. I don’t know which version it is — likely the last version.

Yes, that is build 545.
Anyone know if 545 is more stable than build 428? I’m nervous it will make it worse, that’s why I started this thread.

Well, I tried build 453. Less stable than 428. I then tried the latest from MAGIX, 545. Even less stable! It crashes within minutes while doing simple editing.
One good thing, I can open up the Vegas 13 projects I was working on in Vegas 12, which is very, very stable.
At present, MAGIX support is maddeningly clueless. Just like the old Sony support! They don’t read the questions, and when one replies with the question again, with pertinent parts highlighted, they STILL don’t answer.
Very disappointing. Until they start giving better customer service, they have lost me as a customer. Sad, because I have been a staunch Vegas fan since 2009, and have been championing Vegas over Adobe for the entire time.
