  Going mad: black screen in preview and render, randomly appears/disappears

  Hey everyone,

  I feel like I’m going to lose my mind… I’m using Sony Vegas Pro 13.0 to edit a video.
  Everything will be going fine, when suddenly…
  The preview screen goes black. When I render, it comes out black, too.
  The sound still works just fine. I’m working on a fancy high-end computer that my dad built.

  When I start a completely new project, this will work… Until it won’t.

  I’ve re-installed QuickTime > didn’t work.
  Then I hit F2 and un-clicked “Enable Timeline Overwrite”. It worked! Hurrah!… And then it didn’t. Problem returned after ten minutes, and this time, hitting that button didn’t do anything.

  Then I hit “Bypass Motion Blur”. Yay, it worked! And then… Well, you can guess what happened.
  It’s like tweaking something will work for a minute, then magically stop working.

  What is going on!? This has to be some kind of bug…

  Hi,

  Is GPU support enabled in Vegas13?
  If yes, that may be the culprit, Vegas 13 is very buggy with GPU enabled.
  You can try to upgrade your videocard driver, or even downgrade few versions.
  That may help, but nut sure.
  If it does not help, try to disable GPU.
