Vegas rendered video is blinking
Posted by Gennady Gaidukevich on July 28, 2016 at 8:24 amOK, so here`s the deal. I worked almost hour to make cool outro for my Youtube video in Sony Vegas, rendered it all and… for some reason outro is lagging. And I don`t know why. If you check my video (which is very short) you`ll see that in Vegas preview it works fine, frames are there. But in rendered video it looks like a mess. What am I doing wrong? Please help me.

1] What Format is your Media?
2] What are your Project Settings?
3] What Render Template and Settings are you using?
You could try “Disable Resampling”.

July 29, 2016 at 10:36 amWell, this is format of my rendered video.

Also its funny that yesterday I recorded another video and made new project and outro similar to my last one and… it works fine! Though if I copy outro from that iPhone project to new Sony Vegas project and try to render it result stays the same – it`s blinking. So I guess problem is in that specific project because I made new outro from scratch and it works while old one lags. -

July 29, 2016 at 5:12 pmIs your footage from an iPhone? If so, that is most likely your problem. Vegas expects a constant frame rate video and your iPhone by default records with a variable frame rate, which Vegas does not like. There is an app that you can purchase which enables to record at a constant frame rate plus set all kinds of other things. It costs about $10. It’s name is FilmicPro. I haven’t used it but it comes highly recommended.

OK, Gennady, as that camera captures a whole bunch of formats in a MP4 “wrapper” please use MediaInfo to confirm exactly what you have on your Timeline from that camera. Did you know that the MP4 wrapper can contain many different formats?
Presently I’m considering that as you have selected to have Media changed to best fit your Rendering, that this could be your issue. However to nail this you’d need to ascertain if there is a mismatch going on.
