Can someone tell me the main differences between the iZoptope RX5 and RX5 Professional versions…besides price.

Is the professional version really necessary to clean up sound?

Hi Ron, looks like both will clean up audio but there are differences according to their site:

I personally stopped using Izotope RX, and now use Acon Digital Restoration Suite.
    https://acondigital.com/products/restoration-suite/
Far less system load with better results and it’s also a lot cheaper.

RX5 Pro has some interesting things in it, but I have gotten all I need from the standard version. It is quite complete (from my perspective) and I try to keep up to date with RX as I do with Vegas…

[Steve Rhoden] Does anyone know if Izotope or Acondigital make an audio distortion tool that works well within Sound Forge Pro? Similar to a voice changer but more professional in terms of quality. I see some companies offer this but I was not sure if Iztope or Acondigital even offer something like this.

Is there a professional plug-in similar to a voice changer for Sound Forge Pro?

    Thanks, Steve.

Are you finding the Acon product to be as good as RX? I agree, the RX just seems too expensive, so if the Acon does as good of a good, and also does the same thing, I’m in!

Also, is there a way with the Acon to de-echo a sound clip? I recently recorded someone for her day spa and I recorded her in her lobby. Unfortunately, the lobby is quite echo-y. I’d like to remove that echo-y portion if possible.

    Thanks.

Acon does the same things and then even better than RX Ron, Trust me.
And as for your de-echo issue, Acon also has one of the best plugins available on the market
for such an issue, look at https://acondigital.com/products/deverberate/
