Sony Vegas 11 Alpha Channel
I use Sony Vegas 11 and I tried using the Alpha Channel but it doesn’t work what so ever !
Please Help me ! It will mean the world to me 🙂 -

It would help if you told us what you are trying to do with an Alpha Channel. Are you trying to use media that has an Alpha Channel in it or are you trying to create a render with an Alpha Channel? If you can tell us exactly what you have done that doesn’t work, perhaps we can guide you to what does work.

I Apologize for replying late
Here’s my problem:
I want to use for example this overlay and make the black part of it transparent on the later clip
I go to properties of the overlay clip
Then I make these changes then press ok
And here is the result:
NOTHING 🙁
Please help me guys I will apreciate your help so much

Your problem is that your source media does not contain an alpha channel. I can tell because the filename ends in .M4V which is an MPEG4 file which is incapable of producing an alpha channel because it’s 24-bit video and not 32-bit video.
You need to have a source file that uses a codec that can support an alpha channel. Uncompressed, QuickTime PNG, QuickTime Animation, are some formats that support an Alpha Channel.
What you could do with your clip since the background is black, is to place it on a separate track, and then change the Track Compositing Mode of that track to Screen. That will make the black background blend with the track below it.

Since your clip doesn’t contain a transparent alpha channel, you can still key out the black and get what you want.
