  Does closing the “Video Preview” window REALLY speed up render time??

  a few sources say that if you close the Video Preview window before rendering the video, it speed up the rendering process in Sony Vegas. is this true or a myth??

  I’m guessing that on a slower computer that is struggling to update the video preview, closing it would give it one less thing to worry about and it could dedicate more resources to rendering. On a fast computer you may see no difference at all because it has plenty of power to perform both tasks at once.
