  Looking for a basic video “trimmer”

  I have two cameras so I work with AVI and AVCHD (.MTS extension) video files. I would like to find a basic video ‘trimmer’ program so that I could remove unwanted footage before I start working with it in Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 11. I would like something that does not reduce quality, is easy to use and saves in the original file format. Free would be a plus, but I’m certainly open to something reasonably priced. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
