Using Vegas 7 and have a picture that after rendering and made into dvd with dvd archetect I get flicker. It is a picture of a guy standing with a background of a brick building and the bricks flicker a lot. Have tried to use “switches-reduce interlace flicker” but that didn’t seem to take it away. Maintain aspect ratio is on, and so is smart resample. Is there another setting I could try? Thanks.

What is the actual pixel size of the picture V the Project property size. I am assuming you did mean a still picture and not a video

    Thanks for responding.

The actual pixel size is 1464 X 1434.
    Project properties size 720 x 480.

I don’t have a good handle on what affects photo size and pixels etc. so I appreciate your help.

Did I need to size down the picture before bringing it into Vegas?

Hello Michael. The recommended way to tackle this is to only have the pictures a maximum of twice the size of the project pixel setting if you intend to do any zooming and panning. It is a common problem with any fine detail that causes that annoying shimmering. If you are not intending to Zoom and Pan on the still pictures then make them the same pixel size as the project or just a third bigger. Give it a try … John

Thanks for the info John, I appreciate it and I’m headed to the computer to give it a try!
