  Trimmer viewing problems and project media details

  Hi guys,

  I’m sure you can tell by now I’m a noob trying to master the trimmer! These are hopefully my last two questions on it though. Your help is hugely appreciated. 🙂

  Firstly, from the Default Layout, if I close the Preview and Master windows, I find I cannot see the video in the trimmer. If I press play I can hear the audio, but there’s nothing on the visual side. It simple shows thumbnails in the area where the video should play (see image below). Is there any reason for this? I find if I drag the Preview and Master window to the right and extent the trimmer, the visual in the trimmer will show. However I’d much rather be able to just close the Preview and Master.

  

  My other question is when I have sub-clips in the project media window and they’re sorted by Details, I only want to show a few categories. Is there a quicker way to remove categories than right clicking on the headers > view > unticking one then doing it all over again each time (as per image below)?
