When I drag a clip to the timeline, I have never figured out how to show the length of that clip when I click on it. I can place it at the front of the clip and read the elapsed time and then put it at the end of the clip and do the math but that seems rather dumb. It would be nice to just have another digital time readout for each clip as I come to them. Am I crazy?

    Thanks

Double-click on the event to make the timeline selection and look at the bottom right corner of Vegas window. You can see the length of time selection area.

WOW! That is so great, thanks for the tip. I hope anyone else that is not aware of this will find this thread. Thank you for taking the time to respond.

So again, sadly I will display my level of expertise. When I double click on a clip I get an annoying blue Loop section highlighted. Drives me crazy as I have to go to the top and drag each of the little yellow triangles all the way to the beginning to “unhighlight” that section. What is the purpose of the blue Looped section and can I shut that feature off? Or do I need it and how do I use it?

Options – Preference – Editing tab and then check the “Collapse Loop Region” option. Then you can simply click anywhere and the “blue loop region” will go away. However, they really don’t hurt anything.
