    Hi Folks,
New to Vegas and actually using VMS 10, but the question should still be appropriate here.
When I’ve got a clip on track 1 the audio is on the track below it, let’s call it audio track 1. Makes sense. When I overlay a clip on track 2, Vegas wants to place the audio on audio track 1 and overwrite the audio currently linked to the video on track 1. In my editing system at work, when you overlay video onto track 2 the audio snaps down to the track below the existing audio, which I’d call audio track 2. I know you can ungroup and move the audio once the clip is in the timeline, but maybe there is a way to have it follow the placement of the video without having to place the clip in an empty area ungroup, move and then regroup?

That’s the way you’d think it would work but unfortunately it doesn’t. I’ve even reported it as a bug and was told it’s working as designed. 🙁

There is no need to ungroup anything. Just grab the audio and drag it down to Audio Track 2 and it will remain grouped with the video. You can drag events between tracks all you want without ever ungrouping them.
