Placing Multiple Images
I’m am very new to Sony Vegas. I’m currently using version 10. Somebody gave me a task to take an map image of the United States and then wanted me to place little flags across the states marking locations of their factories.
I thought this was simple enough, but I was wrong. 🙁
I created a video track and have several flag images and below that I have a separate track with the USA Map image. As each flag is displayed, it’ll vanish and introduce the next image.
My question, how to I place a flag on my map. Keep it there and bring in a new image to place on my map without the others vanishing?

You need a separate track for each flag. So if you have 20 flags, you need 20 tracks plus the background track.

That took care of my main problem, and now I’ve run into a new one. LOL
I want to display my USA Map image and drop 1 flag into it’s proper place on the map and then after it’s in place, another flag will fall into it’s place then so-on & so-on. I know how to animate them with key frames to drop my flag down, but how do I do each flag while keeping the last one on the screen?

Drop flag #1 into place and drag it out as long as required.
Drop flag #2 in place and repeat the above.
Continue until all flags are in place. -
Duh…. 😛 I should have known that considering I’ve been playing with other video features where I need to stretch out the video.

That’s where I’d like to be sometime.
in 1981 I purchased my first PC, a few years after countless trips to get it fixed and upgraded I was repairing them myself and answering questions for newbies. I always enjoy helping others with technical stuff.
