  Vegas (9.0c) wont render video with effects

  Hi,
  Kinda new to Vegas, used Google too, but still nobody has what I have.

  Anyway, I took a video, edited it with Video Event FXs like Pixelate and Cookie Cutter (yes, I was trying to censor something), placed the FX and when I previewed it in Vegas, it all seemed to be OK.
  BUT when I hit Render As, first I noticed that the preview windows shows my new video without FX and after it finished rendering, the video really was without any FX. But all FX were there on that timeline.

  Probably I missed somekinda hidden supersecret function of Vegas to actually APPLY those FX to video, so it could be rendered with all of them.

  Can anybody help a newb out?

  Did you apply the FX at the event level, track level or output level?

  I have no idea, but I think it’s Event level, or maybe not.
  Anyway, what I did, I right-clicked on video that’s on the timeline and selected “Video Event FX…” and that’s all. I don’t know if that is sufficient to actually apply those FX to video when rendering.

  You applied the effect at the event level. That is sufficient to apply the effect to that video event. I don’t know why it would not render for you unless there is some other issue going on. They render fine for me.

  That’s interesting.. Can you tell me what version of Sony Vegas do you have?

  Btw, I tried one other way before. I selected my video in Project Media, right-clicked on it and selected “Media FX…” and tried to apply effects manually like that. Then the rendering actually worked, well, somewhat – Instead of 50% Pixelate I had to set it to 75% so I could get the same result as I had with 50% via Video Event FX. And also, the Cookie Cutter didn’t work properly – for getting “censor with pixelate” effect, I need to have a second copy of the video on timetrack, that must be untouched. But with “Media FX…” all videos get modified and so that wont work.

  I still keep wondering, why wont it render…
  I’ll try to reinstall Vegas, if that wont help, then I probably need to get a better version.

  Ahh I solved it, came out that Vegas was broken, now it’s working fine. Thanks anyway. 🙂
