squish video shape to non-rectangular form & more
Hi people, i am a newbie in sony vegas pro 9 and need your help.
i want to change the video shape to non-rectangular form such that one side is squeezed more than the other side. like squishing it. I’m trying to make a teaser video for my school project and want to make something similar to this video here: https://www.mynewsdesk.com/se/pressroom/hot_salsa_weekend/video/view/hot-salsa-weekend-2008-teaser-709
Anyone here knows how to change video shape like its warped/squished at one side? i only know how to squish/deform text under “effects” in video media generators.
Secondly, i want to make the growing plant effect like in that video link. How do i do that? I am new to Sony Vegas Pro 9 and hopefully, this software is capable of doing that.
Thirdly, how do i fly the cropped video in, hold it there for a while, and make it fly out?

Wow, that’s alot to explain. On the video you want “squished” I gather you mean rotated, like your looking at it from an angle,to the right of the slider on the left of the video, you’ll see 2 small green blocks, one has an “a” in it. Click it and set it to 3D source alpha. Now to the upper left on that same track you’ll see “Track motion”. Now you can rotated the video as if it’s in 3D space. You can also shrink it down here and add keyframes to have it fly in, then back out. Read up on keyframes in the help file. It’s pretty simple. As far as making the growing plant effect, I don’t believe you can do that in Vegas. But there’s a company that makes royalty free animations that may have what your looking for. Here’s the link.

Thanks Danny Hays for the track motion suggestion. im using that now to move the videos in and out of the screen.
i’ve dropped the idea of the “growing plant effect”. it looks too difficult.
