I am having a bit of difficulty learning how to move a picture either left or right so that the text can be placed down either side. I have tried the Pan and Crop command, but it only slides the picture out of the white background. On each side of the visible screen, there is a black border, sufficient to place some narrow margin text. I would like to have the picture extreme left, or extreme right. Think Right Justified or Left Justified, as in MS Word. However, the picture remains centered. Can someone provide an avenue for me to align the picture to either side of the frame, rather than centered? Am I perhaps missing some simple clue?

If you visit my website home page and view the short Author Video, you will see what I mean. The author picture and the book cover art are each centered. I want them left or right justified, then I will place text down either side to provide a brief summary of each book.

    Thanks.

Placement of your event anywhere on the sreen can be done in the track motion window. You can open the track motion window with the button at the track header.

Theo, many thanks for your direction about Track Motion. One remaining element eludes me. Using Track Motion moves ALL the pictures to the designated position, either left or right justified. I want to be able to move SOME but not ALL of the images placed on the video track. Can you give me the remaining secret to limit the adjustment to only the specific image I want to change? Thank you.

yes, track motion deals with the whole track. But there are two solutions for your problem: either create tracks for each position you want to use (best way if you have many pictures for every position) or you just add keyframes to the track motion settings (which also allows you to add motion to your pictures).

Theo, my thanks again. Having migrated to Vegas from the simple Windows Movie Maker, I was not thinking about multiple tracks for the same type of insertion, i.e. several video tracks. What you suggested worked quite well. Clearly I have a lot to learn regarding the capability of Vegas, but this forum is helping. Here is the video I created to demonstrate the result of your suggestion. It will describe what I meant about pictures to the right margin and text down the left side. Hopefully, I can insert the video embed code.

Well, I tried and uploaded the video, but it seems to have gone to a separate area of COW. So, my web site is https://www.gordonryan.com and the video is on the home screen if you are interested in telling me anything further about the use of Vegas. I sincerely appreciate your assistance.
