  Widescreen or 4:3?

  I do all my filming in wide screen on my Sony VX2100E. However, as I give some copies to friends and relatives, some of whom have wide screen TV’s and others 4:3 screens, I have been rendering my films in “letterbox style.” This means that they play normally on 4:3 screens, but have to be adjusted on wide screens to “smart” mode, otherwise everyone looks fat!

  This problem doesn’t seem to arise with commercial dvd films which work on either size screen without any adjustment. Is this possible using my Vegas Movie Studio? Of course, if I stick only to wide screen those with 4:3 screens will have a distorted tall/thin picture.
