I have two Finalcut XDCam EX Quicktime MOVs that I need to use in Vegas.. Will Vegas import the files ok, or do I need a codec or something?

My guess is “no”, since the Windows version of QuickTime is a crippled “light” version of the real thing that lacks most of the professional codecs needed to make a Mac play nice with a PC, but I’ve never tried QT XDCAM so…

Did you try it? Did it work?!

I tried it and it didn’t work.. If the XDCam footage was in MXF format I believe it would load (that is what format Vegas captures XDCam footage in)..

Finalcut captures XDCam straight into a MOV file, providing headaches for the rest of the world..

In the end I got it to work by using this intermediary codec:

    Expensive but worth it..
