  Can’t See Video Deck?

  OK, I know I’m new to Vegas but why is it 95% of the time Vegas can’t see my Sony HDV deck? It seems there has to be some sort of sequence of steps to get VP9 to see my deck. What’s the sceret?

  I had this issue with a camera. I had to ensure that the camera was on and hooked up via firewire before I opened vegas to get it to be recognized.

  However, other cameras it didn’t matter. So it is worth a try. Also, what deck do you have? Someone else may have had a similar issue with that deck and can help you better.

  It’s a Sony 35U or 25U HDV deck (can’t see the model number since it’s on the side and I’d have to pull the deck out of the rack to check. To get Vegas to be see the deck, I have to power up the computer with the deck on and then start Vegas.
