I’ve been using Sony Vegas for a few years and have always been able to open up mpeg-4 audio files. I was editing some music last Saturday night when the power flickered and my computer shut off. Usually my files are saved, but this time it didn’t bring it back up. I have been trying to open up my mp4 song and it won’t. My mp3’s will open, but none of my mp4’s. I don’t get any error message, the song file shows under “project media” but when I try to drag it to the audio track nothing happens. The cursor shows a circle with a line through it. Is there a tab or button that maybe has been “unclicked” that’s not letting me open up my songs? I edit music for a dance studio and need to get this working as soon as I can. Help would be greatly appreciated.

    Thanks,
    Lisa

Are you able to do a system restore before your power flickered? This may solver your problem. Another solution would be to reinstall Vegas. If it is a hardware issue (damage to disk) then you may start seeing other issues crop up.
