I’m using Vegas 7.0e, and I get this problem:

I’m very much into the game Counter-Strike. Now I want to make my own Counter-Strike movie, and I’ve heard from a lot of people that Vegas is very good for creating this. So for testing the quality I get from Vegas I do this:

    1. Record a demo while playing.
    2. Use a “startmovie” command in Counter-Strike, which turns a playing demo into BMP’s by taking pictures. I use the command like this: startmovie (movie name) 90, which makes 1 second of the demo into 90 pictures (90 fps).
    3. Then I open VideoMach and open the first picture, which open the entire image sequence (which often consists of more than 2000 images).
    4. In VideoMach, I choose to save the image sequence as an .AVI-file, with the setting: frame rate: 30 fps, keep original number of frames.
    5. Then I start to save it as .AVI (sometimes it becomes more than one .AVI, because the .AVI is splitted if the output file is larger than 2048MB).
    6. When it’s done I open Vegas and open the .AVI(s).
    7. I open Project Video Properties and use these settings:
    Width: 1 024
    Height: 768
    Frame rate: 30
    Field order: Lower field first
    Pixel aspect ratio: 0,9091

    Full-resolution rendering quality: Best
    Motion blur type: Gaussian
    Deinterlace method: None
    8. I right-click the video clip(s) and select Properties, and then set Playback rate to 3.000.
    9. When that is done, I start to render with these settings:
    Audio: 64 Kbps, 44 100 Hz, 16 Bit, Stereo.
Video: 30,000 fps, 1024×768, Quality VBR 90, WMV V9 Compression.
    10. This is where the problem appears. The rendering process bar stops at 51%, but according to the preview it has rendered all frames. The time keeps running but nothing happens, and then Vegas crash.

Do you know what the problem might be?
    Thanks in advance,
    Christian “blaq” Persson.

Oh, and sorry for misspellings and grammatic faults. I’m a 14 year old Swede, please bear with me.

Tried to render the movie to an .AVI, with best quality, but the movie was completely black. Wrong codecs? I don’t know, do you?

Hej! fick du ordning på det? vet att det var längesen du skrev detta men…
Jag har ungefär samma problem! Den krashar exakt på samma ställe varje gång på 92% så irriterande!
Vet du nu vad man kan göra?
    /Ida
