    Hi all –

I am new to the software and having a blast with it. I am not sure what to call this, but I will attempt to give it a show. I am currently using Vegas Movie Studio Platinum 9.0 and I would like to know how this:

If I have recorded someone talking about a subject matter, how do I bring into the screen in just the upper right hand corner an image of that they are talking about.

My example would be someone giving a review of a book and as they talk about it. I would like to put an image of the author and or the cover as they talk about it in the upper right hand corner.

    thanks,
    Andy Wood

I do not have the consumer version of Vegas, but I believe it has the functions I will refer to below.

You will want to utilize a track above the one that contains your main footage. On the track above is where you will place the book cover or picture or whatever you like. On the event itself you will find a pan/crop tool icon on the top right hand side of the event. Click it. There you can resize and drag it to the area of the viewing area on which you want it to reside.

Hi and thanks for the reply – I have been able to re-size the book cover to where I want it, but I can only seem to move it up or down and not to the upper right hand corner where I want it.

Two things for you to try.
The first is to right-click in the Pan/Crop window, select Match Output Aspect and then resize it.
The second is to make sure you have the Move Freely icon (a tool at the bottom of the tool section on the left side – diamond-shaped with 4 arrows)) set to both X & Y movement.
