Need audio tips
Hey all
I have one scene that is maxed out at 0db volume and I would like to increase its volume. Can I do this?
Also, is there a way to have the mono recording play through the two Front channels?

“Maxed out at 0dB” and want to go louder? There isn’t “louder.” I’d suggest turning up your speakers….
Mono to two fronts; just put the surround node in the center, slightly ahead of the middle. Turn off the Center channel.
Usually though, mono dialog is run through the center channel.Douglas Spotted Eagle

I captured this audio from a source mini-disc player/recorder at a lower than desired volume. Yes, I could re-record it but I just thought there was a way to double the throughput. The db line shows a default 0db as the highest volume and the only option is to lower it. I tried the Normalize feature but that didn’t seem to affect it.

How to use the Surround Master:
Are there default volume settings?
What is the ideal volume?
If I change the volume on the Master, am I changing it for the whole project?Jeff

There’s a volume slider on the track header and you can also add a volume envelope to increase volume. Another option would be to “normalize”. Just note that NOISE will be raised as much as the good stuff.

Thanks Edward. I did try the Normalize function but it did no good.
I went ahead and re-recorded the audio at a higher level.
I will experiment with your other suggestions.
