how to time freeze like continous shooting

I like to capture the motion of something and freeze it in time. I have seen it a lot in ads and sports videos.
Any Tutorial out there? Thanks for any help.

Wow! That while video is quite incredible. I’d like to know about all of the techniques in there so bring on the answers please!

This technique is commonly achieved by rotoscoping and tracking.
You take a frame of the video, mask the person out, then place the person back over the video starting on that exact frame. You can then use the tracking tool to keep their body on the same spot of the scene (try and track it to a point on the same plane and close to where they were). So then the video continues, but the freeze frame of the person stays where they were. Works well with shaky footage also.
So you can just repeat this process for a bunch of frames to achieve the effect you are looking for.

Time remapping as well as ‘echo effect’ were used extensively in that video.
I’m actually learning this myself as I want to do a fan-film with time remapping like in the movie “300”. I don’t know why but I think the work done during the fight scene at the end is just mind blowing.
