  Can’t Upgrade Vegas 8.0c to 8.1

  I’m using XP Pro and can’t upgrade 8.0c to 8.1. I have the upgrade disk for Windows Vista Business License, but have hesitated to install it due to all the problems I read about in Forums.

  Perhaps I need Vista to make the upgrade work… I’m just a 74-year old novice. I performed DVD editing and authoring, on simpler software, for several years. Maybe I should go back to it.

  Vegas 8.0c is the current 32-bit version of Vegas.

  Vegas 8.1 is the 64-bit version of Vegas (and isn’t an “upgrade” to 8.0c). It’s a separate version that requires a 64-bit operating system (which you don’t have) and can even run alongside Vegas 8.0c.
