  undulating patterns

  Hi, I’m new to Vegas movie maker. I am making a piece that is made up of still photos, some text and music. In a bunch of the photos I get movement/shimmering, undulating of patterns-stripes and such. It appears both in the preview and after rendered on the DVD played on a tv. Anyone know what is causing this? How can I correct it? All suggestions most appreciated!!

  If you do a search, you’ll find some suggestions. In summary:

  1. reduce the size of the images. You don’t need 4000×3000 images if your output is 720×480, for example.
  2. Turn on reduce interlace flicker
  3. add a very slight blur to the images
  4. When zooming in, make sure you use Pan/Crop

  Thank you. These suggestions helped. Also, having the right search term allowed me to find the previous threads–I had not thought of “flicker”. There is indeed a lot of information–though I’m so new at this, a lot of it goes way over my head. Thanks again for taking the time to send me in the right direction!
