  General views on Vegas Platinum edition

  Dear all,
  Can I have receive some general views about Vegas Movie Studio Platinum Edition 8. I am looking for editing software that will suit my needs – basically, I want software to create the usual family videos but also something that will do short films and possibly documentaries of broadcastable quality. Would Sony Vegas meet my needs? I see it as I see it as a well-priced middle-of-the-road product that won’t break the bank but has fairly useful features? Is this a fair assessment or should I look elsewhere?
  Any advise is much apreciated.

  Hi Richard,
  Sony vegas movie studio platinum is geared towards the casual prosumer
  and is very capable.
  However if you want to do short films and possibly documentaries of broadcastable quality as you say, i would strongly recommend sony
  vegas pro 8…This is for the professional high-end user and can do
  almost anything. You see, if you are considering venturing into broadcast quality media creation and short films, then your demands
  for quality and creativity will increase as you grow and the
  professional version of vegas is then the definitive investment you
  need to make.
