Activity Forums VEGAS Pro How to deinterlace?

I am trying to deinterlace some footage and not entirely sure programatically that it’s doing it.

    – I open the DV footage in GSpot. Shows interlaced.
    – I open the footage in Vegas Pro 8.0.
    – Edit the project settings and set lower field first and Blend mode
    – Go to render and select custom. Leave it on DV however set to None (progressive).
    – Render
    – Open new DV footage in GSpot. Still says interlaced.

This is how the help in Vegas says to do it. It specifically says to set lower field first in the project but none (progressive) in the render settings. I have tried all kinds of variants but no joy. Is GSpot mis-showing it? Is there a good programatic way other than visual to be sure? Perhaps GSpot is wrong. I tried other codec but I don’t think GSpot knows as it never returns anything one way or the other.

    Thanks.
