Big files :S
Why am i getting so ridiculously big movies? A movie that is barley 2 minutes long with some music and text on it becomes 500 MB. What am i doing wrong? Is it supposed to be like this by default?

What format are you rendering to? What are you wanting to do with the video so we can determine what format you SHOULD render to?

It was a really quick video, nothing special that i wanted to put time into, intended to put it up on YouTube :S I rendered to .avi.

AVI is probably not what you wanted for that. Do a search here and in the other Vegas forum here for “youtube”. You should find several suggestions for the proper format to use.
Youtube is flash based but Vegas doesn’t render to flash. You could take the file you rendered and use another program to go to flash from it. Or you could render to a decent quality WMV and let them convert it for you. WMV would be much smaller than the AVI you got.

DV.avi is about 12-13 G per hour. So your figure sounds about right. You need to render to a different format to get a smaller file size See Eds posts.
