    Hey all:

I have just started working with Sony Vegas 7. I would really appreciate it if someone could help me with two things that I just can’t figure out. I am co-hosting a podcast to do with stuttering.

    1. I have created an audio podcast using 4 tracks. The tracks have been edited so that when I play them together, they sound good. But how can I record them together so as to make one track? And, how can I turn that one track into an mp3 file?

    2. There are points in my podcast that I would like to add a new audio track. How can I record my voice, using my headset, directly into a new track?

    Thanks so much in advance!

    1) Render directly to MP3: File >RenderAs > Save as Type> Mp3.

    2) Can’t record your voice using a headset, you need a microphone! :-0 (sorry).

Anyway, once you hook up your mic to your computer sound card, create a new audio track (Ctrl/Q) then click on the bullseye in the track header. This arms the track for recording. Start recording by hitting the bullseye by the transport buttons. You can monitor your other tracks (on your headphones) while you record.

Thank you so much. This was very helpful. Excuse me for asking, but I thought my headset was also a microphone. I have a Plantronics Game Com Pro 1.

Gary, I wasn’t trying to be difficult. I am very new to all of this technology so I wasn’t sure if you were telling me that my Plantronics headset is not good enough to use as a mic.
